Men's skin needs help too
In addition, important skin-protective functions are only partially active in winter. Sebaceous glands, for example, produce less oil. However, the oily film is the skin's natural protection, preventing excessive moisture from evaporating.
Now is the time to pay attention to the right care to avoid dry, chapped skin. Important: Facial toners or scrubs containing alcohol are stressful for sensitive skin and deprive it of moisture and oil. It's best to avoid them in winter. While it may seem tempting in the bitter cold, hot showers or baths are also not good for the skin. The ideal shower or bath temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius. Gentle, moisturizing wash lotions, shower gels, or bath oils as bath additives also protect the skin's acid mantle.
Pay close attention to your face, lips, and hands
Next to your hands, the skin on your face is most exposed to environmental influences. After cleansing, you should treat yourself to intensive care with a lipid-rich face cream. Its consistency is thicker than that of a water-rich cream. But be careful: Those with naturally oily skin should continue using their usual care products. Too much oil promotes blemishes and pimples.
Lips need special attention. They don't have sebaceous glands to supply them with oil or moisture. They also lack pigment and the protective stratum corneum. Lip care with a balm or lip balm is therefore a must.
Hands are not only constantly exposed to air but often also submerged in water. When washing your hands, use lukewarm water. Apply the cream to dry hands and massage it in thoroughly.
